Student Presentation Pack: Seminar Deck and 5-Minute Hackathon Pitch Deck

For undergraduate and postgraduate students who have a college seminar or a hackathon pitch coming up and do not know what each slide should do. This pack gives you two PowerPoint templates with a slide-by-slide storyline, timings and speaker notes, so you build your own talk around a clear line instead of decorating blank slides.

• College-Seminar-Presentation-Template-v1.0.pptx: 18 slides for a 15-minute technical or paper seminar on published literature: title, outline, abstract, introduction, objectives, background, a native literature survey table (6 paper rows), a literature comparison chart, research gap, a methodology diagram in editable shapes, key findings, applications, advantages and limitations, comparison summary table, future scope, conclusion, IEEE-style references (8 numbered placeholder entries with a hanging indent) and a closing slide. 11 named layouts.
• Hackathon-Pitch-Deck-Template-v1.0.pptx: 11 slides for a five-minute jury pitch built around a live demo: 8 main slides (title, problem, solution, live demo cue with a fallback plan, how it works, what was hard, impact and next steps, team) plus 3 backup slides (tech stack, data and testing, judging-criteria map). 9 named layouts. No main slide has more than 20 words.
• Student-Presentation-Pack-Guide.pdf: a 16-page A4 guide. Seminar part: the 18-slide flow with 15- and 20-minute timings, writing the abstract slide, building the literature table, IEEE and APA citation patterns, citing figures, and topic-neutral panel questions by section. Hackathon part: the five-minute storyline, preparing a demo that cannot fail, who speaks when, 15 jury question patterns (no answers) and a 3-minute version. Both decks: changing theme colours and fonts, Google Slides import notes, printing handouts and exporting to PDF.

Every slide has speaker notes with a time budget, what the slide must prove, what to say, what to show, what the panel or jury expects, and common mistakes. Seminar timings add up to 15:00; hackathon main-slide timings add up to 5:00.

How to use it

1. Open a deck in PowerPoint and turn on View > Notes.
2. Replace every [bracketed] field with your own work, slide by slide, following the notes.
